Great Program for Older Siblings

For children 5 to 7 years old at Marks JCH of Bensonhurst 


New and exciting program that emphasizes Jewish learning, art, and pedagogy in a fun environment for children and parents. Our curriculum has connections to beautiful Jewish texts, stories, multidisciplinary creating, and concepts and teaches children to think deeply, flexibly, and imaginatively. As a result children are able to construct a very personal connection to Judaism, express themselves and to become self-reliant, creative, and independent thinkers. At the end of the semester everyone will be able to participate in a spectacular Theatrical Performance Show for the entire family!

Tuesdays, 5-6pm, September 20th-December 27, 2011

and get 15 classes in ART, MUSIC and DRAMA

Fee: $260 members, $340 non members

This semester, kids will have a unique opportunity to learn with the following artists:

Clare Burson (singer/songwriter)

Acclaimed by Harp Magazine and the New York Times. A classically trained violinist and Fulbright Scholar. Clare also teaches at Saint Ann’s School.

Ben Sargent (Theater Director)
Received his MFA from the Moscow Art Theater School(МХАТ). He teaches at NYU Tisch Drama, and is a founding member of Studio Six theater company. Ben also teaches at a NYC public school.

Zhenya Plechkina (Artist/Print-maker) Founder of Zshuk Art Initiative
Received MPS from NYU Tisch School of Arts Interactive Telecommunications Program(ITP) and Masters Degree in Visual Art Education from Pratt Institute with a NY state license to teach pre-k-12 grade. Artist in residence at a variety of NYC public schools for over 6 years. Exhibited art internationally(Moscow and Venice Biennial) and in the US (Queens Museum of Art, American Institute of Architects).
