As part of the Hanna Senesh Community Arts Fair this coming Sunday February 6th, Hanna Senesh welcomes Russian families for a special workshop with Zhenya Plechkina of the Zshuk Art Initiative.
In addition to the fair festivities and numerous workshops, families are invited to a private workshop with Zhenya at the interactive Solomon's Chair exhibition at 11:30 am. This session will be catered to TotTussovka families focusing on Russian-Jewish history, traditions, and values.
Zshuk Art Initiative is a project run by artists and educators who's goal is to use arts and progressive education philosophy as tools in learning about Jewish ideas.
Solomon's Chair is a work of art inspired by the story from Talmud about King Solomon and his amazing throne. This Interactive Installation consists of 42 hexagon shaped hand painted pieces which can be moved around and arranged in different ways. Zshuk Art Initiative developed this project as a way to talk to families and children about artistic experience. Through hands on art making and explorations Zshuk artists offer a way to experience the project first hand and provide a unique perspective on artistic process and Jewish tradition.
